DiaChaya is the Trademark name of Lawrence Benford for a dietary supplement of 100% pure Chayamansa whole leaf powder. The Chaya plant, also known as "Maya Tree Spinach" was brought down from the Mayans to modern Mexicans. The name comes from the Mayan "Chay". The plant seems to have entered the United States from the Yucatan peninsula, through Mexico into Texas. It also seems to have entered Florida through Cuba. Researchers say that this plant contains powerful doses of proteins, vitamins, calcium and iron. Other research done has provided information that the plant contains a "megadose of vitamins" and about 10 times the minerals of other healthy vegetables.
This is just the beginning for this miracle plant, also known as "Tree Spinach". The results listed above are based on traditional use.

Chayamansa may be the new hope for diabetics. Chaya has been used by the locals of southern Texas to control blood sugar levels. A recent study from Texas A&M University* pointed out that an induced diabetic rabbit could be brought back from high levels of blood sugar to a normal range within four hours. Janie Vela, blood tester for the Starr County Health Studies Office, told Larry Rowe of the Valley Morning Star, "Several patients who drink chaya tea have stopped taking their medications for diabetes"
